The Taco Shack Story
The Taco Shack has been an idea for 8 years for us. When we met and decided to call New Smyrna beach a home to raise our 4 children, we always had a dream to one day have a restaurant of our own. Both of us did the schooling, Michael went to culinary school and Emily got her Hospitality Management degree. Both spent years working at various restaurants, theme parks, hotels and resorts putting in many hours working for other people, both with a strong desire to “be their own boss”. A business plan was written by Emily 6 years ago with The Taco Shack idea, but wasn’t put into place until the location at 642 N. Dixie Freeway became available.
